Agnes
Water and Town of 1770 are the main access to the southern
Great Barrier Reef. From here it's only a matter of 90 minutes
to the outer Great Barrier Reef. The access route is from
Mariam Vale (57km) from the north or Bundaberg (127km)
from the south. Deepwater and Eurimbula
National Parks are nearby with 4WD hire available.
The town of 1770, the Birthplace
of Queensland , and Round Hill Head are 6km to the north
of Agnes Water. The township is named
after the year of Captain Cook's landing. Agnes Water also
has the most northern surf beach on the east coast of Australia.
